SAPSR3 schema user is allowing only default password

$

Hello All,

I'm facing a wired issue while changing the SAPSR3 schema password, other than default password "SAP".

tried changing with sql query and brtools as well, still not worked.

then I have deleted the OPS$* users and user tables(SAPUSER) and recreated the updated the table with the schema user id and password.

R3trans -x out put is 0000 and R3trans -d is 0012.

granted the access as well, since the R3trans -x is 0000 I know that is some where permission issue.

when I Change the password it is saying invalid userid/password. and when I set back password of schema user to "SAP" it is working fine, R3trans -d is 0000

did some one face this issue anytime, please help me resolving it.

brbackup not passing parameter file to backint on Oracle RAC

$

We have found that brbackup on Oracle RAC system is not passing the parameter file to backint to backup the "backup logs" at the end of the backup. Consequently, backint errors since it can't find the backup server. The work around is to create a backint script which will the pass the parameter file to the backint executable. Our ticket on this problem is being referred to the third party vendor of backint. Shouldn't this problem be addressed by brbackup tools team?

Unexpected shutdown during RAC install

Hello Experts,

I am in the middle of a 2 node Oracle RAC installation on Windows Server 2008 SR2. When it reaches 84%, the Remote Desktop connection on both nodes abruptly closes and I get the following error:

min11.PNG

When I login again I get the following message:

img2.PNG

I have retried the installation. Getting the same error each time. I'm using ASM for storage. I haven't received  any issues in cluster verify script or grid installation.

Any help will be immensely appreciated.

Thanks

Oracle Installation - system copy.

Hi All,

I would like to ask you about one thing, I try to prepare SAP Homogenous system copy with new SID based on Linux SUSE/Oracle 11 and I have a one question. I do it by SAP software Provisioning Manager, system copy etc.

During the installation one of steps is – stop installation by SAP Provisioning Manager and Oracle database installation by script. /RUNINSTALLER.

When I do this one of the elements is type of Oracle installation:

  • Create and Configure database
  • Install database Software only
  • Upgrade an existing database

I chose “Install database Software only” because I would like to restore database from my backup files, but if I will chose this, after Oracle installation I cannot connect to the Oracle via SQLPlus – this tool not working. Where is the problem, perhaps shall I chose “Create and Configure database” ? Or something should be done after “Install database software only”.

Thanks for your help.

Tomasz

Table Scan:DBTABLOG reorg taking time

$

Hi,

We are running Tables reorganization in our database Oracle 11g.

SAP is ECC 6.06 and OS is HP-UNIX.

For all tables reorg is running fast but inly table DBTABLOG is running from last 4 days.

Tables with more size than DBTABLOG completed but this is still running, We also deleted lot of data from DBTABLOG and reduced its size from 200 GB to 10GB but there is no growth in reorg speed.

while checking sql statements we analyzed for all tables reorg shows Rowid Range Scan -

3085100 %4/2/2015 12:57:05 AM0Rowid Range Scan:  SAPR3.ZZGLFUNCA: 82570 out of 82570 Blocks done161

But only for DBTABLOG it shows Table Scan -

20712 %4/2/2015 4:10:04 AM565068Table Scan:  SAPR3.DBTABLOG#$: 146969 out of 7544755 Blocks done11226

Not sure if this could be reason of slow reorg of this table, Please provide your opinion if this could be reason or what could be other possible reason and how can we resolve it.

Thanks,

Shivam

sql query to not include a group in count if a field has particular value

$

Consider a table Student with fields Id,subject and marks and values as

Id Subject Marks
-- ------- -----
1  F   20
1  S   10
2  F   25
2  S   20
3  F   15
3  S   10
------------------

If a student got Marks=10 in at least one subject, he (his Id) should be considered as Failed else Passed.I want to display two columns as Passed count and Failed count.

As per the scenario my output should be

Passed Failed
------- --------
1    2

I got the output with individual queries for Passed and Failed. But I need single sql query.

selectcount(distinct f1.Id) as passed

from Student f1 wherenotexists

(select * from Student f2 where
  f2.policy_no=f1.policy_no
and f2.Marks=10

  )

selectcount(distinct f1.Id) as failed

from Student f1 where  exists

(select * from Student f2 where
  f2.policy_no=f1.policy_no
and f2.Marks=10

   )

Please do the needful. Thanks in advance.

(Note: I don't want the number of subjects each student failed. I want the number of students failed. The output should be only one record.)

insert TABLE_NAME@SCHEMA CONNECTION 'PAYPROD'

I am getting syntax error  that "TABLE_NAME@SCHEMA", is unknown.  It does not exist.

Can anyone help me an example with CONNECTION option in INSERT.

SAP Upgrade backend activites

Hi,

I am performing EH6 Upgrade on EHP4 System, Database is Oracle and OS is HP-Unix.

We chose Advanced under configuration option with zero downtime option.

I read few documents regarding what exactly happens at backend in SAP system during upgrade and could not clear few doubts -

1) Is there any particular task after which if I login in shadow I can see upgraded software components as I understood upgrade happens in shadow instance and during downtime SUM drop existing instance and rename upgraded instance.

2) What actually happens during DBCLONE and ACT_UPG phase, I understood DBCLONE jobs copy repository and data dictionary in shadow instance  and ACT_UPG activates these repository and Data Dictionary objects. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

3)  What on high level happens in Prepossessing and downtime phase and when It says shadow import what exactly SUM is importing.

4) Is selection option for nZDM and giving number of CRR Process is sufficient to use nZDM or we need to put table list also in file CRRTABLIST.LST to use nZDM feature as we selected this option but transcation CRR_CONTROL is showing  "The replication of recorded changes is not enabled"

i am new to oracle so tell me step by step

I need your expertise n help to get it working...thanks in advance

BRTools 7.40 patch 15 - sapdba_role.sql works only temporarily

Dear Experts,

I am performing the first upgrade to oracle 12c in our environment. Currently, I finished the procedure

for switching the Oracle Software owner user from oraSID to oracle, which is described in SAP note

1915317 - Migrating Software Owner to 'oracle'

There, at point 13 Configure SAP BR*Tools for user 'oracle', I wanted to check the result by launching:

OS> brconnect -u / -f check

OS> brbackup -u / -q

Unfortunately, these commands are failing:

<SID>adm 1%  brbackup -u / -q

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.40 (15)

BR0055I Start of database backup: beqgenmx.qub 2015-04-09 15:33:23

BR0484I BRBACKUP log file: /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup/beqgenmx.qub

BR0280I BRBACKUP time stamp: 2015-04-09 15:33:23

BR0301E SQL error -1031 at location BrInitOraCreate-2, SQL statement:

'CONNECT / AT PROF_CONN IN SYSOPER MODE'

ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

BR0303E Determination of Oracle version failed

BR0056I End of database backup: beqgenmx.qub 2015-04-09 15:33:23

BR0280I BRBACKUP time stamp: 2015-04-09 15:33:23

BR0054I BRBACKUP terminated with errors

This can easily be fixed by launching the sapdba_role.sql and sapconnect_role.sql scripts, which are

contained in the BRTools 7.40.SAR file. But soon after, I found out, that things are good just in the

current session. Once I log out from the user and then switch back to it, the above error comes back

again. I have compared the environment when it works and when it doesn't, and there is no difference,

so here I am out of ideas... Please kindly help me to solve this, THANKS!

There is a SAP upgrade guide to migrate Oracle 11 to 12?

Hello SAP experts,

Do you know where I can find a SAP guide to make the upgrade to the recently released Oracle 12?

Thanks & kind regards,

Luis López

Hi experts,

I’m going to describe our current scenario as detailed as possible.

The following dump is being constantly obtained in our ERP 6.0 EHP7 system (Windows 2012/Oracle 11.2.03):

Even when it’s seems to be a very common issue, almost all notes and SCN questions point me to a solution for distributed system but in my case this is a central one.

The following note describes the scenario exactly as the one we have, but again it seems to apply for distributed systems: 2064591 - work processes reconnect to Oracle database with error ORA-03135. The proposed solution has been tested but with no lack. Also the solution presented in the bellow links but with no result either:

http://www.oracle-experts.info/ora-03135-connection-lost-contact

http://www.inthebasis.com/solve-ora-03135-connection-lost-contact/

Just in case the Windows Firewall has been completely turned off and the NIPING self test is OK.

In addition, the data base library (lib_dbsl_215-10012499.sar) has been updated and we are planning to update the whole kernel and oracle instant client.

Could you please suggest what to check or what would be the recommended troubleshooting?

Thanks

DR Site - Dataguard - Virtual Hostname - Recommendation

Hello SAP Gurus,

We have installed the below HA System in our Primary Site

We have same SID for SAP & DB. Due to HA, we used Virtual-Host-name/IP in our Primary Site.

Now we are in process of setting up our DR Site.

  •   We planned to use the Virtual-Hostname/IP in DR.
  •   We planned to use Oracle-Data-guard for DB Replication at DR Site

Our environment

OS     : Solaris 10

DB     : Oracle 11.2

SAP   : NW7.0 / ECC 6.0 Ehp3 (Abap+Java)

Host-entry of Primary Server

erpph01 10.1.1.10      #Physical Host

erpdb      10.1.1.83        # DB Instance

erpd00    10.1.1.80       # PAS

erpscs     10.1.1.81        # Java CI

erpascs   10.1.1.84        # ABAP CI

Planned Host-entry for DR Server:

erpdr01   10.2.1.10      #Physical Host

erpdb      10.2.1.83      #DB Instance

erpd00    10.2.1.80      #CI+PAS

We got below queries:

    1. Can we use the same virtual host-name for SAP & DB in DR Server?
    2. How to up the DR Host in the fastest way without changing manually the ip address, host name in  ABAP &JAVA parameter files, Instance Profiles ?
    3. How we can synchronize from Production Site SAP Application files (Instance profiles, Java configuration files, binary files..) to Disaster Recovery Site?

Thanks for your feedback.
